Hi closer1973,

Has your husband applied as dependant or main applicant?
Has he applied within UK or outside UK? I mean for entry clearance?

Any reasons cited for interview letter/email that you received from UKBA?

Give some more details of time lines and visa dates

Thanks

Hi,
There is no interview for dependant visa.
I think there is a mistake by UKBA. You can call the British Embassy to confirm.
Only the students got text these days for interview.
Thanks

Am not sure about the interview. May be just a check on your relationship if they are concerned about and check everything is genuine.

1) Did you have enough maintenance? How much and how long?
2) Are bank statements submitted original and upto standard?
3) Which marriage certificate you produced? Is in English?
4) Any proofs you have submitted for susbsisting relationship? Like Phone bills, email history?

5) Proof of your accommodation submitted? Letter from landlord for no-objection on your husband joining you accommodation submitted?
6) Any other proofs like marriage photo, inivitations submitted?
7) Your payslips, employer letter submitted... just in case as a proof that you can support your dependant?
8) Copies of all pages of your passport (including all visas/BRP) submitted?

If not I would suggest your husband to take anything from the above list is missing.

Apart from above, when I applied for my wife, I have submitted council tax receipts for proof of address.

Dont panic...do the right things and be confident.

Thanks again aravindb4u

yes i submitted all the relevant info including pictures as weve been married for sometime now - when he went to submit he was even told the pictures were too many and had to return some, we had ample amount of phone records and card purchase info since we dont do emails that often but loads and loads of calls and i sent records of mine from here and his from there.

Bank statement and maintenance money all ok, he is my only dependant and i had over 2000pounds since november 2011 so that should be ok.

if they needed or wanted to query anything that was submitted like bank details and stuff, wont it have been me they will ask rather than him?

thanks again for your response appreciated.

If you have done everything right..then should be ok.
Although as Sahi pointed out , they could have got it wrong.

On one occasion for my friend, they rejected RBS statements as it dont had logo. And main bits are relationship proof, maintenance, bank statements.

Also if your husband applied after 14-June-2012, the maintenance amount would be 1800£ for himself(if you are in UK less than 12 months) or could be just 600£ if you are in UK more than 12 months. This could be in addition to 900£ maintenance for yourself. So total 1500£ in you are here more than 12 months or 2700£ in total if you are less than 12 months in UK.

But they could have got it wrong. Since he made the application, any queries they will only call him instead of you.

Worst case if they call for interview, be prepared for answering all questions. In some VFS branches case workers are ignorant about maintenance requirements. Make your husband aware of the rules and maintenance requirements before interview. Also make him understand about requirements for susbsisting relationship. No harm in knowing about these and be prepared and confident.

I guess they are just suspicious about susbsisting relationship and should be fine if your husband answers correctly for questions like, when did the marraige taken, why he hasn't joined him immediately after marriage, when did you first meet and expect more silly questions about your relationship subsisting.

Dont worry, know everything, do right things and be confident.

Keep posted once your husband gets visa.

You sure did Sahi, thanks for that advise, as i called them and they apologised it was an error as the visa had already been granted, yet to be released to him, thanks so much :D
