EEA Family member (non-EEA) to move to UK on Job offer

Post by biamado » Sun Jul 29, 2012 3:29 am

As a husband of an EEA national I´m allow to work in the UK.
We currently live outside the UK and I got a long term job offer in a large corporation in Manchester.
I´m familiarized with the requirements, documentation and procedures to follow in order to get my residence card under the EEA2 application form.
Based on my nationality, I do not need an entry visa to the UK for visits no longer than 6 months. I have entered the UK without visa for short visits a couple of times before.
We are planning to fly and entry to the UK together with my wife (EEA national) in a couple of weeks in order to start our stay as residents thanks to the job offer I just got.
On arrival, I supposed I will get the 6 months stay allowance stamp in my passport which states that I´m not allow to work during my visit. She, as an EEA national, will just get the EU entry stamp.
My specific question is:
- Under this scenario, will I be able to start my the EEA2 process without any problem, despite the initial stamp condition gotten on my passport on arrival?
- Is there any other scenario or condition in order to entry to the UK and the start thee EEA2 process as a EEA family member who will be asking for UK residency on arrival with her husband?

I will greatly appreciatte your guidance and recommendations.

You should not get a UK visit visa entry stamp if you wish to enter as an EU partner.

There is no such thing EU entry stamp. EEA nationals don't get their passport stamped.

If entered as a EEA family member (and not as a visitor), you will get stamp "code 1A" in your passport that will allow you to work.
