UKBA ACCA TIME LIMIT

Hi
May i know whether UKBA classifies ACCA as a 3 year or 4 year course.
I have seen old UKBA document(June 2009) which says ACCA takes up to 3 year and 6 months .

As my friend is about to finish in 4.1 years under old visa rules.If they classify ACCA as a 4 year then he can join MBA otherwise visa will not be granted as maximum limit is 5 or 6 years based on the type of course.
