ILR

Post by Infonaz » Mon Jul 30, 2012 12:52 pm

Hello,

I will be elligable to get ILR under 10 years rule in January 2015.
Then I was thinking to undretake some ovesease employment in International companies (Switzerland).

Is it true that if you are getting ILR and then living not in the UK but oversease it can be withdrawn?

I have heard of it, but didnt find anything on a UKBA website.

Thank you

If you spend more than 2 years outside of the UK you lose your ILR.

Would it be possible to send me a link to the page where they say that please?

I coldnt find it anywhere.

Does that mean I should rather better apply for citizenship immideatly after ILR before leaving?

And how long I have to wait on ILR to be able to apply for citizenship?

Thank you.

Here's the link to the UKBA website:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/polic ... 9/#header2

The point which refers to your situation is SET.9.5

You will qualify for BC (assuming you meet all the conditions) 1 year after being issued with ILR.
