Fiance visa, savings

Post by iffydooda » Mon Jul 30, 2012 2:09 pm

My Kenyan fiance will apply for a UK fiance visa. I have a provable income of £16,400, thus a shortfall of £2,200. Which means I shall use savings to prove I qualify.

I would need £2,200 x 2.5 = £21,500. AT the moment I hold shares which I think I would have to sell to meet the cash savings. My question is, how long would I have to hold the cash savings for before I qualify to make an application for a Fiance visa? I can prove ownership of the shares but what exactly is required to qualify.

Savings under £16,000 won't be taken into consideration. Savings must be in the sponsor's account for a minimum of 6 months. Shares would have to be converted to cash savings to qualify.
