Fingerprints section SET(O)

Post by seepsaba » Mon Jul 30, 2012 2:55 pm

I’m going to attend Solihull PEO in August for ILR. Need help with a finger print related question in SET(O). Got my HSMP in June 2007, but can’t remember If I was finger printed or not. Before HSMP I also got visit and student visa in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Its really hard to trace back my memories to recall if I was finger printed or the dates. How do I deal with the SET (O)section asking for fingerprint information? I’ll much appreciate any advice in the matter.

seepsaba: if you had to travel to Pakistan to get your HSMP, then you must have given biometrics as they were introduced in March 2007 in Pakistan. But if you switched from student visa to HSMP within the UK, then I guess you didn’t your biometrics done (as biometrics were not introduced for in country applications at that time).

Rajuk09: Biometrics include your finger prints + your photo.

So does that mean we would have given a card or something after the finger print + photo ? . For me this question of Biometics confuses , just for my wife who came from India as dependant on my workpermit during June 22 2009.She gave finger prints , but not sure is that we call biometrics ..and in the application for ILR (which we are applying Jan 13, not sure what to write for her as I have not given any Bimometrics). I came to UK during Jan 2008 on a work permit. Please clarify for regarding this point.

Kind regards

Raj

Card is only given to in country applications. What your wife gave in 2009 are also biometrics. If you think you have never given finger pints in past, don’t fill that section and if you have given them in any previous application, then fill in the details.

Thank you linkers , I was on Work permit and then got Tier 1 G , and my wife gave biometrics for WP dependant and now she is T1 G dependant, So I will those details in the ILR form and I think she still needs to give Biometrics during ILR application ?

Both of you need to enroll biometrics at the time of your ILR.

SET (O) has seperate questions on fingerprints and biometrics. I got my HSMP from Pakistan in June 2007 and entered UK as HSMP aug 2007, then got Tier 1 in 2009. So I never used my Student visa to enter the UK. Could you please advise me on this. Many Thanks

That’s why I originally asked you that where you got your first HSMP from. I myself got it from Pakistan in May 2007 and I had to give Biometrics (as the Home Office introduced biometrics in Pakistan in March 2007).

So anybody who got HSMP after March 2007 from Pakistan (not sure about the dates in other countries) must have had their biometrics done. I am sure you would have enrolled yours as well as you got HSMP in June 2007

Many thanks for your prompt response. Shall I leave this section blank and include a covering letter instead saying I can't recall the dates, (as i really can't remember the dates in 2007 when I would have been asked for these finger/biometric prints). Could this be a problem? What would you suggest I might do.
Thanks again

Even I couldn’t remember the exact date but I still filled this section and put the month only. I also explained this to the CW at the time of my ILR and he was fine with it. I would suggest you also do the same and explain it in the cover letter that you had your biometrics done but you can’t remember the exact date.

Hi linkers,

On the fingerprint section, in question 10

Give details of the British diplomatic post(s) involved if the application(s) was/were made abroad

I can remember the date of fingerprint taken but it was taken on VFS centre, not in UK Embassy. what would be the answer of the diplomatic post(s) ?

Thnaks

You can put the name of the main British High Commission in your country.
