URGENT - PLEASE HELP - First time Employer Sponsor License

Post by srinigoma » Mon Jul 30, 2012 6:11 pm

Hi All,

My Tier 1 PSW visa is expiring on the 16th Sep '12 and the Company I am working for is going to apply for the first time sponsor license by 2nd of August. They are relatively new to the UK (HQ in the US and in business since 1995) and have all relevant documents to apply. I joined this company only few weeks ago (16th July) as they promised to take of care of visa sponsorship.

Do you think they would be able to get the Sponsor license and assign CoS before my visa expires? Can they expedite the registration process if they include copy of my visa, state the circumstances? Also, one of the UKBA rep advised me to submit the application without CoS and attach a cover letter explaining the circumstances and later submit the CoS. I don't know if this is good to do.

Please share your advise.

Thanks in advance,
Srini

Sponsor licence applications currently take 2-4 months to process, so if your employer hasn't submitted its sponsor licence application yet it is unlikely that they would get the licence by the time your visa expires on 16 September.

After they submitted their sponsor licence application, and approx. 4 weeks before your visa expires, ask them to send an email to UKBA to the following two addresses explaining the circumstances and requesting urgent treatment of the application.
sponsorlicensing.support@ukba.gsi.gov.uk
scoc@ukba.gsi.gov.uk

Hi Manci,

Do you think the email address you have suggested provide definitive answers? In my case, my employers suggest that they have made the application for Sponsor licence in mid April. This is clearly three months+.

Meanwhile they have also advertised the position on various portals including jobcentreplus for RLMT which is now completed.

I try to ask my HR who say that their lawyers are working on it and the ongoing delay/Olympics is the main reason for the extra time that it is taking.

Have you come across anyone else with this sort of time scale for the SL application?

Thanks Manci. The employers have been paying for a immigration adviser service who, they say, have been dealing with the sponsor applications. I still have 1.5 month left on my current VISA.

Last time I have spoken to my HR, they said that the immigration adviser have managed to give 'priority status' to the application.

Is there anyway to either track or have a UKBA staff comment on the progress, since it has been a while?

Private Agencies

Post by srinigoma » Tue Jul 31, 2012 12:04 pm

Few private agencies said they can assist in the sponsorship license and get it done within 4 weeks. They charge appx £2000 for the service. Is it really possible to get the license and Cos through them in short period?
