Abuse at work

Post by marc88 » Mon Jul 30, 2012 10:58 pm

Hallo, my names is Marc and this is my first message in this good community.

Actually i live in London, and during the look of work, i had a bad experience in one restaurant.
I made a trail of 2 days total 15 hours of hard work.
At the final of the first day the manager, said me that i likes them, but they need an other day of trial, for the sure of the contract.
So i worked for an other day.

After 2 days they call me, to tell that there isn't a contract for me; and that this 2 days was unpaid.

Is possible for the low, to use a person for work 2 days unpaid?

thanks

Unfortunately this often happens with employers who can see the chance to get free labour. It's not illegal however, as you agreed to the unpaid trial with no guarantee of work afterwards.

well as long as you don't have a legal contract you cant take any legal action against your employer

before joining , you should have gone through to the legal requirement but you had only verbal things so to me unfortunately i can't see any positive outcome in your case

better to come out off this issue and find a job considering it a lesson for you so that in future before doing anything like that you properly go through to all legal stuff

by the way what is your immigration status in the uk??
