Query regarding Visa start date

Post by PVM005 » Tue Jul 31, 2012 2:22 pm

Hi All,

Can you please suggest how to identify if your Visa is before or after 6th April 2011, i.e. will the start date & end date say it straightway? as my start date is after 6th April.
I had applied for my Tier 2 (General) visa on 26th March 2011, paid the old processing fees, and submitted the old set of required documents, I remember my employer asking me to do it on or before that date specifically for getting it processed in the old rules as otherwise it could have been rejected. Do I fall under the cooling off rule and not eligible for ILR in future or the old rules where I can straight away apply for an ILR and Naturalisation if the rules remain the same in future?

Thanks

It is the application date that matters, not the visa start date. If you applied on 25 March 2011 then it was under the rules before 6 April 2011.
