Addition of baby as Work permit Dependant

Post by firangi » Tue Jul 31, 2012 5:18 pm

Hi
We are expecting our 2nd baby any day this month. I came across FLR (O) version 07/2012 for application for Leave to remain for dependants.

Under "Number of Applicants" the minimum option is "Yourself and 1 dependant". Is there not any form just for "dependant only", because as I (as parent) still have over 14 months on my WP.

Any gudiance, would be much appreciated.

Thanks n Regards

Are you under old rules WP or Tier 2? I suspect it will be T2 in which case FLR(O) is the wrong form.

In your previous thread you say your are T2 (ICT).

Hi

Apologies for the earlier wrong information. I have now checked my document issued by UKBA and it says "Work Permit". I was transferred from Indian office of my employer to UK head office back in Nov-2008.

Thanks

If your are not part of the PBS system, the correct form is FLR(O). What it means by applicant and one dependant is that one applicant can apply with another person who is dependant on that applicant. For example, if your dependant wife were to apply she could include the child. If the child is applying alone, then there is no other dependant to include and fee is as follows.

If you are a single applicant on form FLR(O) and no dependants are applying with you, there is a fee of £561

Thanks a lot Lucapooka !!

based on your latest response, it means I will have to select "Yourself and 1 Dependant" and pay £842 by post and £1301 in person.

Am I right?

Thanks

No. Read what I have said in italics in my previous posting and then find that exact same text at the top of the second page of the application form.

Thanks again.

Sorry if I may have misunderstood, but won't the new baby be a dependant?

In the Italic statement, does YOU mean the baby?

Yes, you means the applicant. The baby is the applicant.

Thanks Vinny and Lucapooka

Yes I would be travelling in Dec-12 to India. Do you have any idea how much time it takes for dependant visa to come through by both methods - Postal and "in person" application?
To save time, I am wondering if I should go for Premium?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks and Regards
