Changes to the family immigration rules: Who they affect??

Post by send2archan » Wed Aug 01, 2012 5:17 pm

Hi Greenie and Sushdmehta,

I saw a few topics raised by both of you.

In the topic titles "Changes to the family immigration rules: Who they affect", I needed some clarity- My wife is currently in the UK under Tier 1 General DEPENDANT visa. She was granted this in April 2012 (pre July 12). Hence, OLD rules will apply for her. Am I correct in my thinking? However, the FLR (M) which I am currently filling up for her now (since I am applying for SET O this Aug 12 and therefore for her I need to apply for FLR M) there is Section 7A which talks about financial requirement like salary>£18.6k etc etc. What should I do there since, this is N/A for me. I have a salary much higher than this amount so it is not an issue but am asking for clarity purpose.
Section 7B talks about maintainence funds- What is it for my dependant (just my spouse). If I have an amount in excess of £2k for the last 3 months, is that enough?

Greenie raised a topic titled "Adequate maintenance:- benefits rates from April 2012"- For a couple the amount is £482.95 per month after bills/council tax. How many months do I need to show for my wife's FLR (M) application? It is a bit confusing, sorry :( Can u pls clarify?

Another topic posted by Sushdmehta titled "New English language testing for partners"- My wife's qualification is in the Home Office Database and is in the list of approved qualifications. Do I need anythign mroe? I am going to take a screen print to the PEO. She also has a UK NARIC doc.
