Wifes new ID documents

Post by d4rmsc » Thu Aug 02, 2012 4:43 pm

Hi,
My wife got a visa 2 weeks and flew to the UK only last week!!

Want to set her up with a bank account, national insurance number, register her at the doctors etc
Question is shall I do in her married name or her maiden name as her passport and visa is still in her maiden name??

Also, what other docs /places/services should I get her registered with?

What ever you do make sure the documents are there to help in the process.

My wife also came tot he UK about 3 months ago, I did not bother changing her name and used her existing name (same on the passport) to register for everything.

You can do the same, or first get the name changed on her passport and then get other things in process. The reason is that every other group/organisation will ask for proof and you need to make sure the names match on the passport and applications.
