Spouse Visa for my Wife - Accomodation Enquiry

Post by riversidecreations » Thu Aug 02, 2012 10:34 pm

My wife came to the UK on a visit visa shortly after our wedding last year - for her visa application, I submitted a tenancy agreement, with landlords signature... however, the Landlord is my sister - however I do pay her rent to live there. I did not state anywhere that the landlord was my sister.

Now, my wife is back in India and we are about to apply for the spouse visa, she passed her test and documents are in place. i am getting my sister to write a letter to support the application to say that me and my wife can be accommodated at the property. My question now is, could there be any issues because we did not mention that the landlord was my sister when we applied for the visit visa last year.

on a separate note, would it matter, if my sister does not mention that she is my sister on the letter?

It does not matter if you are related to the landlord as long as your are covered through a Assured Shorthold Tenancy agreement. She should do the same again with a non objection letter as a landlord only.

The reason you did not mention your relation to the landlord is that it is not asked in the application form. So perfectly fine to see her only as a landlord.

Thats great. And it makes sense.

It is not asked anywhere in the form. but; would it matter if my sister does not mention on her non-objection letter that she IS my sister or can we just ignore it?
