Messed up- maintenance fund in wrong place - can anyone help

Post by byron » Fri Aug 03, 2012 5:42 pm

Hi,

I held my maintenance saving in my wifes cashplus mastercard account.

Its one of those prepaid accounts. Its been there 90 days.

Now I find out its not an acceptable place as she is a dependant (its in her name) and also its a mastercard.

Can anyone help, I and my family are going to lose everything.

I need to add I dont have another 90 days as visa expires 4th Oct

When did u apply? Have you got any intimation from UKBA? Maybe u can reapply before ur expiry by getting a same day appointment. But u will need funds in ur name for 3 months. Maybe from a different account.

I have not applied yet.

My tier 1/ hsmp visa expires on the 4th of October.

I have do not have 90 days left, so even though I have all the money I am not eligible as the money was kept in an incorrect house.

ruined over a technicality

Hi Byron, One possible way is to make yourself also a Joint account holder and produce the documents that you are also a member of the account. I think seniors can also add to this.

opening a joint bank account is the option but as that wont be for 90 days as well..mate you have shot yourself in the foot...speak to an immigration adviser..
