Payment Method

Post by mrjsg » Fri Aug 03, 2012 10:11 pm

Hi all,

What is the best payment method for Tier 1 extension for main and 2 dependents application. I know Postal order will cost £ 150 total.

Is that ok if I pay main applicant's fee by Postal order and dependents by debit card. Because I heard stories about payment blocked by banks even we tell them about big payments.

Please advise who had same issues.

Thanks in advance

The best method is debit or credit card payment as it is the most fastest method payment but yes you will have to inform your bank about the transaction otherwise it could get blocked by fraud detection teams of the bank. other method is bank draft and it costs around 20 quid but the clearance time is same as cheque payment ie around 3-5 working days but its cheap and foolproof mode.

Don't go with Postal Order, go with Banker's Draft. Its cheap, safe and gauranteed payment.

Can pay with 1 banker's draft is applying togather and sending all the application in 1 envelope. Attach it to the front of Main Applicant's form and mention in your covering letter that you are paying it alltogather with 1 banker's draft.

Also, make sure you write all the names & date of birth, of people who are included in the payment behind the draft.

Good Luck.

Hi Longshift,

Thanks for reply. As I know you have good experience. Can you please advise one more query. Actually I booked same day appointment last night on 14 augt only for main applicant and my visa exp date is 28 sept. If I go to same day on 14 is that effect my 5 years ILR period.

Thanks,
JSG

JSG,

This totally depends on the case worker. From lot of research on this forum for past 6 months I have came to this conclusion.

Most of the cases who apply via PEO, within 1 month of expiry gets their leave extended from the date of expiry. But this is not a golden rule. Few of them, mostly at Glasgow and few at Liverpool got their leave extended from the date of application or appointment date even when they applied within a month.

In your case, you are applying 1 month and 13 days early of your expiry. Chances are 50/50 in your case.

Scenerio 1: If the new leave starts on 14th August 2012 and end on 14 August. Problem with ILR

Scenero 2: if the new leave starts on 14th August but ends 28th September. No problem with ILR.

So, what I would suggest to you is, try rescheduling your appointment bit closer to your expiry date. Within a month or even 15 days is ideal. This way chances will be bright for getting new leave from expiry and your qualifying period for ILR will be full without a need of another extension.

If not successfull in rescheduling. On the date of your appointment, Request your case worker to be kind and give you your leave from expiry. Be polite and tell him it was difficult to get any appointment later than 14th.

Good Luck.

Longshift,

Thanks for your reply with all explaination.

I managed to book appointment on 14 sept only for myself. And will apply for my dependents by post. Is that ok, I mean it will not create any problem? Even their visa exp date is 28 sept.

Thanks,
