Naturalisation application and return of supporting docs

Hi guys,

Does anyone know what the procedure is after you have made your naturalisation application? What I mean is if you have applied via post whereby you would have sent your passport and other supporting docs with the application, does UKBA return the docs before a decision is made or do they normally hold on to them until the end and send back everything with the decision letter?
