ACCA, after undertaking a Masters in Accounting

Post by whiteroses » Sun Aug 05, 2012 12:46 am

Hi,
I am currently on a PSW visa after completing my MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. I wish to undertake the ACCA (a professional accounting qualification) from sometime next year, as I want to study towards becoming an accountant. Am I eligible to for a visa on the basis of my Masters, or do I have to meet any further requirements like undertaking an English language test? I have 4 exemptions (confirmed with ACCA), I know I require proof of that and CAS. Is there anything else?
Thanks.

Edit:
An additional question that I would like assistance with is an issue that a friend addressed recently. Although ACCA in itself upon completion is the equivalent of a Masters, and will compliment my academic degree as it is a professional qualification, the coaching programme is not a degree level programme. Will this cause a problem in terms of getting a visa? If so, how I can address this problem successfully?

Thanks once again.

No, you don't need English test. You masters will cover it.

Yes, this is new Academic Progression rule and it can be an issue in terms of getting visa. You sponsor/college will write details about AP on your CAS and UKBA will assess it as per own method. Applicant is unable to do anything with AP.
