Wife granted visa but has given birth to twins after!

Post by yule » Sun Aug 05, 2012 7:22 pm

Last week the wife of a relative was granted a spouse visa for the UK (after nearly 6 months wait!), but she has given birth to twins a few weeks before!

What is the process for the babies, does another application need to be made?

New legislation is in place regarding earnings of £18K+ prior to vias applications, does this still take affect just for the babies, as the wife has already been granted her application.

Their is a deadline for the wife to leave for the UK.

What would be the best solution?

Advice would be much appreciated

The best solution would be for person with the question to join this forum and ask it, having given all the relevant details about their circumstances. You haven't provided anything that would allow any meaningful responses.

Hi Lucapooka

Thanks for your post.

Fair point, however he has asked me to post it on his behalf, due to computer access, is this a problem?

What other information would you like to know?

I apologise for my novice approach

The father is a Pakistani national who has ILR in the UK. The spouse visa has been granted.

The dilemma is now the wife needs to make an application for the babies, which may take longer than the time period she has to travel to the UK!

She can enter the UK at any time as long as her visa is valid. Most people travel within 3 months because it helps with the next stage of their application , the ILR in 2 yrs time, otherwise they have to apply for further leave to remain (FLR)to make their two years period up before they can apply for their ILR.

Thanks for the info batleykhan,

What does she need to do for her newborns? does she make a new application?

Does the new income threshold (The new legislation of £18K+) take into affect for the newborns?
