Tier1 (General) extension fees £700 or £1500

Post by vishnu123 » Mon Aug 06, 2012 8:06 pm

I have a questions regarding the Tier 1 (general) extension fees. The fees for the applicants in the UK with Highly skilled migrant programme (HSMP) letter is only £700.

I have HSMP approval letter dated 20/Dec/2007 and a valid entry clearance visa from 19/Mar/2008. I applied EC from India.

Then I did the extension to Tier 1 (General) in 2010. Now I need to extend my visa again.

Can I apply under Highly Skilled Migrant Programme with the fees of £700 or I need to spend £1800 to extend my Tier 1 General visa???

Thanks in advance
Vishnu

Thanks for your reply. HSMP was closed in 2010, and the only option is Tier 1. So I converted to Tier 1 (General). Have I did somthing foolish?

Tier1 (General) extension fees £700 or £1500

Post by sachinjain_356 » Thu Aug 09, 2012 10:38 am

Hi Guys,

I came in Uk on HSMP visa which was stamped in Dec 2007 but i entered UK after 6 months so I need to get another extension. Now I need to know whether I am eligible to apply for Tier 1 extension with the fee of £700 or £1500 because on UKBA website its mentioned that if you have valid HSMP letter then the fee is £700 only. Please advice if someone knows about this. Lots of people will appreciate this because so many of them are in same situation as me.

Post by sachinjain_356 » Fri Aug 10, 2012 12:01 pm

Hi Guys,

I rang this number 08706067766 and asked them that I came in this country on HSMP and later converted it into Tier1 so Am i eligible for £500 fee or I need to pay £1500 for my 2nd extension then that lady said if you can prove that you came on HSMP then yes you are eligible for £500 fee. I asked to prove do i just need to show my HSMP visa stamp she said yes you can. I hope that will help you guys.

Visa fee for HSMP people

Post by sachinjain_356 » Fri Aug 10, 2012 1:42 pm

But Still I am not sure about the fee although she said I am eligible if I can prove but I checked with one of the solicitor and he said according to him its for people who come under judicial review. So its still not clear. Vishnu if you can do some more research before applying then that would be better. I am also trying to clarify this and if get more clarity will post here. Because UKBA website doesn't say anything like fee is applicable for Judicial review HSMP candidates only that means it should be valid for all candidates who come under HSMP but still we need to check.

Thanks
Sachin
