Query on Tier 1 renewal

Post by vin1983 » Wed Aug 08, 2012 2:56 pm

Hi - I came to uk in june 2009 on Tier 2 intra company transfer and shifted to tier 1 general in january 2010.

I am planning to go for early extension in septemeber as my stay from june 2009 to jan 2010 on Tier 2 ICT will also be calculated towards ILR along with tier 1 general period.

Do I need to mention it in cover letter why am I going for early extension? Also is my approach correct as I want to travel outside Uk in november and want peace of mind with extension.

Thanks
Vin

You can apply at any time; you don't need to give a reason.

thanks. Will start the process. Even though its 4-5 months early my tier2 ict stay should cover the gap for ilr. Thanks again

Just providing a list of documents I am collection for my tier 1 renewal, please suggest if missed out anything:

For submission:
- Tier 1 general application and copy
- 2 passport photos
- 12 months payslip( stamped and signed by employer)
- 12 months bank statement ( highlighted salary credit)
- 3 months bank statement with £900 maintenance fund( part of the above 12 statements)
- Current and old passport with Tier 1 visa and earlier Tier 2 visa

As backup, may not be required as I already showed some of them for applying first time:
- Degree certificates and transcripts for qualification/english
- NARIC letter for Master's degree equivalence
- Tier 1 approval letter from UKBA
- Employment letter
- HMRC letter with tax reference and NI number
