Domestic violence case?

Post by kamaldeepbatra1 » Wed Aug 08, 2012 11:35 pm

Hi. I am on tier1 dependent visa & working with a company. I had disputes with my husband as he used to harrass me, did not allow me to hae access to my own bank account. I continued to do things as he threatened me to end the relation. He even threatened to beat me. As I am an Indian, I had cultural pressure to continue the relationship & do everything possible to continue the relationship. Finally, I gave up & separated & started living with a friend's family. My dependent visa is expiring in October, 2012. If I go back to India, he will get divorce in my absence. Moreover, I do not have any financial support if I lose my job here. If I file a case of domestic violence, I do not have the evidence to prove that. Any suggestion? Any chances to get my visa extended?

Sorry to hear about your case. Unfortunately I can't give you any advice other than maybe asking you to seek a lawyer's advice. Hope some seniors can give their say.

Yes you sure can apply for extension... how it all can take place, you need advice of a lawyer or solicitor, as already been said in this thread by senior... if you want I can also provide you with a good solicitor's contact details, he has already helped out few of my own well known people (women) suffering through domestic torment... Anyways I hope you get it sorted out in your favor!... Wish you the best.

Could you please provide me the solicitor's contact details? This would be very helpful.
