Hi,
I am on Tier 1 (General) and my ILR will be due in June 2014. I have a job offer from a UK employer, but the 1st 2 years will be working around the globe for training. before settling back in UK.
I was looking at the UKBA website and could see the following standard requirements for Naturalisation.
1. not spent more than 450 days outside the UK during the five-year period; and
2. not spent more than 90 days outside the UK in the last 12 months of the five-year period; and
I am a bit confused if these apply to ILR application or British passport application after 1 year of ILR? So my questions are:
1. What does naturalisation mean? (ILR or British passport?) Or do these requirements apply to both ILR and Passport stage?
2. Since I will be working for a UK employer, would my physical presence be equally important?
I have not spent any day outside UK for the last 4 years, so wanted to plan.
Any help/guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
