Tier 2 - ILR COS or Employer's letter

Hi,

I am completing my 5 years stay in the UK by October 2012. I came into UK as a work permit holder in the year 2007 and later transitioned into Tier 2 (Intra company transfer).

Now the organisation that I work has planned to issue me a Certificate of Sponsorship for further extension. Can I use this Certificate of Sponsorship in place of Employer letter to apply for settlement?
