New English language test in the near futur

i planing to bring my wife to uk on spouse visa,because the law change i have to find new job to meet the financial requirement which i should wait 6 months after that before apply, is it problem if my wife pass the test now or it could be New English language testing for partners before i apply,thanks in advance.
