non-EEA national - qualifying for student loan

Hi guys

Quick question - my wife is a UK residence card holder. She has lived in the UK for a year and half.

She wants to go on to higher education and as such we want to apply for a student loan. Student loan company are rejecting her application because they are saying she had to be resident for 3 years in the country before becoming eligible for the loan?

Is this right? I thought that a non-EEA family member should be afforded the same treatment as an EEA member?

Anyone been through this before?

No it's not correct when it comes to student loan. Student loans are only available for UK and EEA nationals provided that they have been living for consecutive 3 years in any EEA country before they start their studies.

If your wife is NON-EEA I don't think she can get a student loan.
