airport entry close to expiry

Post by marina123 » Thu Aug 16, 2012 4:37 pm

Hi,

I am planning to go to india for a week and come back.

my visa (Tier 1 ) expires in mid november and i am applying for extension. This is the first time i am travelling since the time i got visa since 3 years.

- Is it a problem if i go close to end of september and come back before october.

- Will there be any issues at the airport when i come back.

I have a regular contract job

No, in my opinion it should not cause any problems for you.

If yo have a valid visa "valid at the time of you entering the country" then you should be OK however if the immigration officer had a unhappy childhood then he/she might ask you some wierd questions but they will not be able to do any thing as you have a valid visa.

But just in case be prepared for some abuse and rude behaviour, its our fault that we were born in third world countries.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply. i have heard of people
being refused entry at the airport when close to expiry of visa about
2months before expiry date. Could anyone else who have visited
india close to tier 1 extension put sone more responses please as
i have a very urgent matter to visit India.
Can i call up UKBA and enquire about this. But i trust this forum.

Hi MArina.

Yes its a good idea to get more opinions plus I do not see any harm in emailing or calling UKBA.

However take a look at the following link
