Hi,
I am looking to apply for tier 2 general visa,i need to know that do the dependent need to clear the IELTS ?
also what work rights does she have?

Will my wife need to take IELTS / English test as a dependant of Tier 2 Genral ?

For Tier 2 general, IELTS/English test is not required for dependants.

But for partner(wife or Husband) of a British citizen or a person settled( Permanent Settlement) in U.K, need to take IELTS/English test .

What if they have a UK masters degree, do they still have to sit for a test? In relation to dependent of settled spouse.

is it for ILR or depedent visa???.. if for ILR then they still have to give Life in UK test ....

The initial query was for tier2 but I am asking for ILR. So only life in uk test no IELTS for uk masters degree holders?

IELTS is not required if your are applyinh gor settlement or citizenship...The only test applicant needs to take is Life In UK test...
