we just found out that my wifes visa application to move to Ireland has been approved. We are delighted, and relieved
However since we initially applied a few months ago, our circumstances have changed as my wifes mother who is elderly, has become very unwell and this requires my wife to stay in her home country until after the new year to take care of her mother.
Is it the case that once a visa is granted that you then have 90 days to enter the state ? In our case that would mean we have to leave for Ireland by November, and we really need to put that off for a few months longer.
But what happens in our case of illness or family circumstances changing, surely cant the embassy can just change the date that the visa will be valid from.
Or God forbid do we have top apply all over again, and go through the whole process again ( which would be an absolute nightmare ) ?
Would we lose the visa altogether if we didn't travel on the required date.
surely if we explain the situation to the embassy they can understand and just change the date that the visa will be valid from. ?
It would seem really unfair to revoke a visa after it has been granted because of a change of circumstances. Who makes the decision is it the embassy itself or the INIS ?
Has anybody else been through a similar scenario ?
