Schengen visa - second entry close to valid until date

Post by Petem » Sun Aug 19, 2012 3:10 pm

Wife has a multi entry C visa for Germany
It was issued to allow her to join me (UK passport working in Germany)

It has the following wording:
familienangehöriger Eines Unionsbürgers / EWR-Bürgers

Which roughly translates to:

One family are nationals Union citizen / EEA national

It is valid from 18-06-2012 until 15-09-2012. She previously entered Germany but had to return to her home country due to work commitments. We did attempt to apply for her Residency Permit, but having queued for most of the day we were sent away with an appointment for 18-09-2012.

Wife has to travel to the UK with a party and will not return to China until the 11-09-2012 and thereafter has to get from Beijing to Shanghai.

My understanding is that she can enter up till the expiry date, we propose she travels on the 13-09-2012 to give some rest and a little buffer in case of cancelled delayed flights, and that she can remain after the date with out any problems as I have been working here for many years.

My questions then are:
1. Am I correct in this understanding?
2. Is she likely to encounter any problems from KLM \ Dutch Immigration (Especially at Shanghai Airport)?
3. Is there any documents other than copy of my passport, Our marriage certificate, German address registration and appointment letter for “visa”, that she can carry to ensure that she does actually board and make Amsterdam.

I would like to thank you in advance for your advice.
Pete

If the visa is valid, the visa is valid. This in itself should be sufficient.

I can understand why you might have concerns about the airline, but your wife will not be undocumented.

My worry was that the return date of the ticket (likely to be about 5-6 weeks later) would be available to check in / visa check and also the Chinese immigration.

Thanks for the confidence I had assumed correctly
