husband moving from Tier 1 PSW to my dependant under tier 2

Post by odconsultant » Mon Aug 20, 2012 4:04 pm

Hello,

Currently my husband and I are both under Tier 1 post study work visa. My visa expires in February 2013 but my husband's Tier 1 visa expires in November 2013.

I will be getting sponsorship from my organisation and so will be applying under Tier 2 General in November/December 2012

My question is can my husband apply as my dependent at the same time I am making an application? as he will still have his tier 1 post study work visa remaining? or will he have to apply as my dependent when his post study work visa ends?

If we apply at the same time, will we have to show maintenance funds for both of us in my account only or we will have to show maintenance separately in our separate accounts since we don't have a joint account.

Thanks

Your husband cannot apply from within the UK. He will need to return home and apply from there once your application has been granted. Any reason why you are waiting until Nov/Dec?

Hello, I was told that we cannot switch to another category before 3 months of when the current visa expires. The ukba HR officer in my organisation told me that. Is this not true ?

Hello,
I'm in a bit of a similar situation here.
Just that my husband is getting a COS.
I have been asked to go back to my home country to be able to apply as a dependent.

how to apply

Post by odconsultant » Sun Oct 14, 2012 4:32 pm

thank you for your help earlier on. I checked with my company again and it is actually company policy to only apply when 3 months are left. I have been maintaining the money and everything looks good. just wanted to ask you a few quick questions please
so I produce the bank statements
my company issues me the certificate of sponsorship
my question is whether I post the application with all the documents or my company does it?
thanks
