Academic progression for mphil after masters

Post by ptdes » Mon Aug 20, 2012 10:28 pm

Hello,

I have completed masters (nqf 7) and now have an offer for fully-funded PhD (3years) from UK in closely related field. As a normal practice, a new phd is first registered as an mphil student. So my CAS states my intended qualification as Mphil (3 years) indicating that I will be studying at the same nqf level as my previous masters.
Does academic progression need to be justified in this case? My CAS doesn't provide any such information on this.

Thanks,
pt-des

I think MPhill is a Level 8 qualification at NQF. But anyhow, after Master degree you are going for MPhill in relevant field which ofcourse a genuine academic progression.

Mphil is level 7 but is considered progression from a taught masters. In any case it is mandatory for academic progression to be confirmed on the Cas otherwise the application will be refused.
