Urgent help regarding Referees

Post by ric1982 » Wed Aug 22, 2012 7:08 pm

Hi,

I have following two persons who can act as referee. I would appreciate if some one can let me know if its ok?

(1) Owner of Post office British citizen
(2) British Citizen over 25.

If (1) is not allowed as a professional referee then can a doctor be a professional referee? The list on the HO website does not include doctor for some reason.

Please help.

Thanks,

Yes, all medical professionals, including doctors, can act as referees.

Thanks,

So why doctor is not included in the list. (I see Dentist in the list!). Also does owner of the post office (shop) who does passport verification is considered as professional referee?

Apparently because the doctors are getting too many requests to sign forms and act as referees. Check this sticky thread:

Having said that, if you can't find any suitable referee for yourself, then your GP or any doctor you know should be fine to act as one.

Furthermore, if your friend who is an owner of a post office is in the list of acceptable referees, then yes, he may sign your form:

Hope this helps.

I have another question regarding reference:

What text can come under following section on Page 12.

"Say how you know the applicant and state your age and profession"

Form http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/siteco ... orm_an.pdf
