Bank Account

Post by samira_uk » Fri Aug 24, 2012 11:16 am

Dear All,

I want to apply for Tier 1 Ent but I have a concern:

I have an account in a bank with more tha £200Kand I want to use that for my investment. In addition, I have another account in the same bank which is joint and I do not want to use it at all (for maintenance I'll use an account in another bank).

Then, my question is that can I have some accounts in a bank and only use one of them as investment fund? I want to ask the bank to mention the account number in its letter to clarify that I am relying on the money only in that account. In all guidances the MONEY IN THE BANK mentioned and not the MONEY IN ACCOUNT and therefore I am worry that it may cause problem for me.

Thanks in advance.

That will not be a problem at all. You will be adding your bank statement in you documents. They will verify whether your bank statement is correct or not. They dont verify how many accounts you have and all. "Funds in the bank" means funds in your bank account. If this query is still itching your mind you can simply close the other account which you are not using and re-open when ever u want in future.

Good luck

Actually for the funds outside the UK you should submit a letter not bank statement and the letter should confirm the amount in that bank not in that account.

I agree with you and closing the other account is the best way.
