Can I apply for my dependents before my decision has come?

Post by yggdrasil » Sun Aug 26, 2012 8:56 am

Hi All,

I applied mid-August for my renewal (expires 23/10/2012) and am waiting on my approval. But I applied for myself separately and still need to apply for my dependents (due to the massive price change for applying together). I'm worried that I won't get my approval in time to submit the application for my dependents. Obviously there is some time yet, but I don't want to let it go until mid-October when things will be very tight. Does anyone know how this works? I know that under section 3c of the immigration code my status stays the same during my application pending, but I'm worried about my dependents situation if I can't apply for their extension before 23/10 when it expires, simply because I don't have mine completed.

Thanks a lot for any advice!

Reading things more carefully in the dependent application, it looks like I can apply before my decision has come (though of course I risk losing all the fees if I am denied).

Can anyone confirm that I can indeed apply before my decision has been made? Many thanks

You can apply for your dependent prior to your decision is being made.

All the best
