Tier2 general newbie extension question.

Hi

I'm sorry in advance for a very newbie question.

I'm an intern here in UK under Tier 2 general.
My visa starts on 3 aug 2012 and expires on 7 jan 13.

Let's say my employer is ready to give me a full-time offer to start right after the end of internship, can I extend my Tier 2 ?
What section on UKBA web-ste should I read, T2W ?
Is it for 2 years or for total of 3 years?

you can extend it for the full 6 years assuming you would be happy to work there for at least another 4 years.
