Income Tax Return New System

Hi,

I have been looking at the details of the new system. I see for proof of earnings they require an income tax return. I have some questions about this, especially for those of us who are paying tax PAYE (Pay as you earn).

In my case, My tax year ends in february, and the return is only filed in july, and finalised around october, so the actual tax return is only valid for 3 months, the other problem I have is that the tax office in my country has sent me a letter stating that I am only eligible to be accessed for tax next year, so I have no way of obtaining an income tax return, my question is wether this is an acceptable excuse for supplying other evidence in lieu of an income tax return, such as original bank statements for the year.

I would really appreciate any replies from the moderators on this matter, I realise that the system is very new, and that it is difficult to answer some of these questions, but any assistance would be appreciated.
