Post by razrazraz » Mon Aug 27, 2012 1:42 pm

Hi there. I'm an ACCA student. I have just completed ACCA fundamental papers f1-f9.A company is offering me a 20 k job in a managerial position.will I qualify to apply for a tier 2 visa on the basis of ACCA fundamental paper qualification or do I need to complete ACCA or a Oxford brokees degree? I have also given Ielts and scored 7. Pls advice if I need to speed up and finish ACCA or do I get a Oxford degree or am I eligible to apply for a tier 2 with out any problem.thank you.

ACCA do not have degree awarding powers so, no, the fundamental papers are not a degree. You cannot switch from tier 4 to tier 2 if you have studied a professional qualification you must have been awarded a degree as set out in the rules.

Thx for ur reply.that means I have wasted my time and money into ACCA .i thought it was a recognised body with world wide recognition with the power to award degree. .I didn't know they are rubbish and worth for nothing despite the most difficult subject to gain pass marks..I would rather do a MBA from some rubbish college with no headache and submit some assignments and gain a easy pass in 1 year unlike ACCA where one has to go through the mental trauma and Sometimes they even fail us by not giving a 1 mark ( 49) where the pass mark is 50 over 100(no assignments)strictly 3.15 hours written exam. Thank you ACCA ..and I have to study the same crap again in MBA which I have already done 1000 times in ACCA. Great news!!!

Well surely you studied ACCA in order to become an accountant?!

ACCA is a recognized and respected organisation which awards professional qualifications. It cannot award degrees in the UK. I am not quite sure why one would think they were studying a degree unless the course is called as such. If you have to option to use your papers to qualify for the oxford Brookes degree then this can be used to switch.
