SET(M) Form - Salary Question

Post by Clippedy Clip » Tue Aug 28, 2012 11:45 am

Hello All,

I will be applying for my SET(M) visa in the near future. In the form there’s a question regarding monthly salary after tax; now usually that’s an easy one to answer. But in my case I work as contractor through my limited company and I pay myself a monthly salary plus any dividends as and when needed.

My question: what amount/figure should I put in the form?

One option that I can think of is to provide a letter by my accountant showing all monthly salaries/payslips and the dividends taken in the last tax year; thus showing my annual income. I can then calculate an “average monthly salary” after tax & deductions and use that figure in the form.

I’m open to other suggestions from the members on this forum, if you can think of other options please let me know.

Appreciate your help!

Thanks
(Apologies if this question was already answered on this forum)

Yes, the 'average monthly salary' method seems to be the most logical answer to your query.

Definitely suppply a letter from your accountant with a breakdown of monthly salary and dividends.

PS - make sure your accountant is chartered and the letter is company headed paper.
