Set(O) - Section 5

Post by virulent » Tue Aug 28, 2012 3:46 pm

Hi,

Some guidance would be appreciated. Section 5 states the following:

You must complete ALL four of the boxes below if you are applying as a Work Permit Holder; a Tier 2 (General) or a Tier 2 (Intra Company Transfer) Migrant – (Your employer will be able to provide you with these details)

Do you need to complete the four boxes if you are here on UK Ancestry? My employer does not hold a sponsorship license and does not know SOC codes for particular roles - I can work it out from SOC 2000 volume 1.

I guess the fundamental is 'if you are applying as a work permit holder' then you need to complete the section, is a UK Ancestry visa classified as a work permit?

Sorry for any ambiguity - I have searched high and low to find a definitive answer but no luck to date.

Regards

P.S - as a side note I am submitting 3 months payslips, bank statements etc - if anyone who has recently been granted ILR via UK ancestry could shre the type and number of documents they submitted it would be appreciated.

I didn't fill in anything related to SOC code during my ILR application (under ancestry) and Case worker did not ask me about it.

Documents I remember carrying aside from the required certificates for Ancestry were three months bank statement, three months payslip, Life in UK pass notification, letter from employer quoting salary and 5 years P60s (I'm not sure this is required but it strengthens your application). Ancestry Visa is not classified as work permit as you do not need a work permit to work if you are on Ancestry visa....its Permit free employment visa.
