Extra documents with application-is it required?

Post by varghesejim » Tue Aug 28, 2012 4:58 pm

I need to apply for my wife and kid for entry clearance next month and trying to collect information.

We were discussing a dependant application case another thread, where someone put salaryslips and rental agreeement for tier1 dependant application even though it is not needed.

I have heard this from numerous people-add extra documents other than UKBA asked for to make your case stronger. I would like to get some opinion from senior members. Is it true that extra documents make your case stronger? I can understand writing a cover letter to address the case worker. But how is it helping adding rent agreements and salaryslips with dependant application?

Myth or fact?

I got an explanation about providing payslips with a dependant application even though it is not asked. A forum member is asked to provide extra documents to prove that he can support the dependant. Well,to prove that we submit maintanence proof, but I reckon they can ask for extra documents, fair enough. So submitting paylips will prevent them from asking for extra documents. Still not sure why rental agreement is needed.
