Submitting British Passport for Partner Application

Post by Matilda » Tue Aug 28, 2012 8:14 pm

My partner is about to apply for first leave to remain in the UK as my civil partner. We are in the UK.
What are the rules regarding submitting my British passport as sponsor? I need my passport as I regularly travel for work. Is a certified copy from a lawyer acceptable in lieu of the actual passport?
Thanks.

Certified copy of your British passport is completely acceptable, just add in a cover letter saying that you require your passport for regular travel for work.
