Bank problem .. Will I get my visa ?

Post by elle17 » Thu Aug 30, 2012 6:17 pm

Hii guys ,

I am an algerian student in France, and I have been selected by my home university (in france) to study a full year as un erasmus student. But in order to do so I have to apply for a Tier4 visa.

I already have my CAS with no tuition fees to pay.
I also have the monney required. As a proof of my money I have :
- A letter from my bank which shows that I have 7130 £ in my savings accounts . this letter is headed with with the bank logo and a signature on it - the saving accounts numbers..

plus - a bank statement (of 390 £) with the logo on it, my account number , but unfortunatey no stamp or signature. My bank doesn't want to put a stamp or signature on it ..pretexting that it's an official document & so they can't add something on it ...

I am a bit concerned about that second document ... If the consulate doesn't accept it , they will probably consider that I only have 7120£ , while they require 7200£ . I am afraid they will not give me the 10points...

What do you think about that ?

Will they refuse my visa? I mean if they consider the bank statement non recevable, and they only consider the letter will they give me the points even if there is a 70£ lack?

Thanks in advance for any response ...

There is no requirement for an original bank statement to be stamped by the bank.

However does the letter from the bank state you have held the required funds for 28 days?

Yes it does ! It is said that I had 7130£ from 26/07/12 till 26/08/12..

how does an original bank statement look like ? I mean what's the difference between the original and the online bank statement ? my bank told that there isnt't ... Unfortunately this bank statement don't have any stamp on it .. so I'm concerned the consulat will reject it..

If the said letter conforms to the requirements set by the UKBA and you also have a bank statement to cover the required maintenance amount, then there shouldn't be any problems.

Regards

The letter perfectly conforms to the requirements set by UKBA . But it doesn't cover the whole 7200£ required !

That's why I added a bank statement from another account of mine ,where we can find the missing amount ... But this bank statement doesn"t have a stamp on it , and I don't actually know if it's an original...

if there is no stamp on the bank statement then the chances are that its the original statement. The best thing would be to take it to the concerned bank and have it clarified. No one here would be able to tell you that whether the statement is original or not.

Surely you know whether the statement is an original statement received in the post from the bank or printed out in the branch or whether it is an online statement
you have printed out yourself?

I printed a pdf document myself from my online account , but my bank advisor told me that that it's exactly the same document the bank prints to the customers whereas it's received in the post , or printed in the branch...

Self-printed statements needs to get stamped/signed by the bank. Or tell your branch if its a same thing they will provide get a cover letter for it.

Otherwise, you may got refusal.

The thing is I print it myself but even if it was the branch they would have printed the same document as I did.... So there is no difference at all...

I have just one more question .
May I submit my dad's bank statement in addition to mine? In order to resolve my problem of the 70£ missing ?

My dad can obtain an original bank statement very quickly, but I wonder if I can do that?
