? Schengen (France) Visa during last 3 months of validity if

Post by t1s2010 » Fri Aug 31, 2012 9:48 am

My T1(G) initial visa will expire around 15-Dec thus 16-Sep to 15-Dec will be last three months of validity.
Extension is a non-issue and will be straight forward – Single employer, enough points!
I had a 6-month Schengen visa with validity up to 20th August and I did take couple of visits to EU.

I need to travel to Paris in coming months for company activities.
How can I get (or increase my chance) Schengen visa?

‘My company/HR will happily endorse my visa request if it helps.’

As far as I can recall the UK residence requirement when applying for a Schengen visa is that your UK residence permit/visa must exceed by more than 3 months the validity of the requested Schengen visa.

As your current 6 month Schengen visa expired on August 20th, you will need to apply for a new one. Based on your current T1G visa validity period, I'd say that you will most probably need to apply for an early T1G extension before applying for your next Schengen visa, i.e. if you want to travel to any of the schengen countries before the end of your current T1G visa expiry date.
This is because it is highly unlikely that you can apply, get a new schengen visa and then complete your schengen area travel before 16th Sept.

Thank you C95tdg. Sometimes reconfirmation helps.

I did some online research and it seems extending my UK visa should be first priority. After that, I should be able to get a longer duration Schengen visa.
