Filling FLR(M) -- guide please

Post by innocentdevil » Fri Aug 31, 2012 4:42 pm

just got on to filling the FLR(M) form which I will be posting for the wife after I get my ILR as she joined me after our marriage in july 2011.

Section 2:

2.1 -- i check Spouse of a person present and settled in the UK
and a biometric immigration document.

2.2 -- Is this the first time you have applied for a visa or extension of stay in one of the above categories
(including previous leave granted as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner) with your current sponsor?

YES / NO --- she will be applying for extension of stay from within UK first time.

2.3 --- even more baffling. advise on what to check

SECTION 4 -- Dependents. We have a 3 months old kid but he won't be applying with her mother as I will be applying under MN1 for him inshallah.

so don't know what to fill that section with.

SECTION 7: Financial requirements. does that only apply to dependents who got EC on/after 9 July 2012.

flr(m) form is more complicated than ILR SET(o).

Why are you asking about details of FLR(M) form and application in the ILR forum?
Perhaps that is the reason that you have had to bump your topic unnecessarily.

Think!!

would be interested in the responses you get for your queries. My wife is applying for her FLR (M) next week and it seems they have really made it confusing for spouses to apply for visa.

Since no one else has stepped in:

Section 2.2 - that's a 'yes' as it is the first time she's applied in one of those categories (read section 2.1)

Section 2.3 therefore doesn't apply

Section 4 - I'm less certain here. I THINK (based on the guide which is out of date) that if you have no dependant kids you should fill out questions 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and then include the child in 4.6. Finally - I think you need to answer 4.8 and 4.9

Section 7 - financial requirements - my understanding is that this applies to your wife as she will be moving from the dependant spouse to a spouse of a person present and settled in the UK and thus will have to meet the financial requirements.
