Tier 1 Post study work to Tier 2 general

Hi guys

I currently working as assist. Accountant in PSW visa. My employer has a licence. but i am unsure about occupation level and appropriate salary to switch from PSW to tier 2 general.
Is 20k enough ?
what about my occupation?
Please someone help me to solve this issue

Your salary must be 20k or the salary listed for the job SOC code for which you will be sponsored under Tier 2, whichever the higher

i still have to figure out the level 6 requirement and the salary.
UKBA confused by listing ACCA , and not showing degree. I dont know how to compare and decide.

If anyone have experienced the same situation, please give your ideas.

Hi Chrich,

As per my knowledge and understanding, look for the best or closest job title matches with your and look for the salary and other requirements and if you are working on psw and want to switch to tier 2 general catagory than u employer dont have to go through RLMT either, Also you might not find the appropiate job title in NQF 6 than look for it under NQF 4 because as per my understanding you are still eligible to apply for the tier 2 if you are at NQF level 4, but make sure you annual salary is equal to or more than that what they have mention and that salary should be based on 37.5 hours per week.

for example : (Just random figures not listed anywhere)

Post : Assistant Account

Minimum Salary: £15 per hour

15*37.5 hours = £562.5
£562.5*52 weeks = £29250
£29250/12 months= £2437.5

so if this is the senario for the job you doing than have make sure ur annual salary must be more than or equal too £29250 per annum .


and if you are working as Assistant Accountant and your salary is £25000 per Annum than you dont meet the requirement and you are not eligible to apply under this catagory.

So i will say check the guidlines and find correct SOC code and there salary and other requirements and do you home work properly and you will be fine.

The job has to be NQF6. Look at SOC code 2421 which lists various ACCA qualifications. It is the sponsor's responsibility, not yours, to determine the appropriate job SOC code. The sponsor has to enter it in the CoS together with the appropriate salary according to the codes of practice, or the minimum of £20K if that is higher.

As per my understanding as you are switching from PSW to tier2 genral you just need COS from you employer and a salary of more than 20,000. I am in the similar situation.
