Anyone travelled on ferry UK to Belfast in the last month?

I just wondered if anyone travelled on ferry from UK to Belfast in the last month or 2 ? It seems the UKBA presence at seaports between mainland UK and Belfast is more pronounced in recent months going by these news articles -

Has anyone travelled the belfast routes recently ? What are the checks like , especially when disembarking at Belfast port ?
