Switching Tier 2 ICT to tier 2 general or tier 1 general

I am new to UK as well as new to this forum.

I have come to the UK in tier 2 ICT short term staff migrant category workpermit. The validity is for 1 year.

Can anyone please let me know how to switch from my visa to Tier 2 General or Tier 1 general.

Sorry, you cannot switch within the UK.
You will need to move out of the country serve a 12 month cooling period and then only may apply provided you find a new sponsor and satisfy other conditions.

Hi, I am currently in UK ON TIER 2 ICT LONG TERM VISA STARTED jan 2013 valid 3 years. Can I switch to tier 2 general visa if I have a new organization ready to sponsor me.

If yes can I apply for switch inside UK?

The following link does mention tier 2 ICT established staff can switch inside UK but I am still confused after reading on different forums about a cooling off period.

You cannot switch to T2G in-country, you would have to apply from your home country after a 12 month cooling-off period.

T2 ICT Established Staff are those who had their initial T2 ICT leave in the period 6 April 2010 - 5 April 2011
