Perm... then Perm+Contracting ..now fully contracting

Hi,
I was in a full time permanent job. Then from the past 6 months i was in a permanent job and i was also doing contracting part time during the same period. Now i am fully into contracting after leaving the permanent job. Will be applying for an Tier1 extension in 2 months time.

I wanted some advice on how to explain this situation in the covering letter. This complex situation of first permanent, then perm + contract, now fully contracting - will this affect my application? How to portray this in a simple way and what documents would be able to help my application?
