Hi
I already know that UKBA takes about 40 days to process any SAR application. However, I sent my SAR application on 15th August(received by UKBA on 17th according to Royal Mail Tracking) and today is 4th September.I checked my Bank statement and 10 pounds fee was not taken out yet by UKBA(no trace of cheque deposition). My question is how long they usually take to send atleast a letter of acknowledgement to the SAR applicant?
Have a lovely summer.

It took me 2 moths to receive my SAR. Everyone seems to have a different experience. They took the money first and sent the acknowledgement letter later in my case.

my situation is exact same as yours, so i emailed to them to chase my post as i sent it on 2nd class. They then replied me back that they have received my letter, but now 35 days gone, still no reply from them, and it they cleared my cheque on 28th day

Hi all,
I have sent a SAR request on 5th septmeber as a recorded delivery which was received by home office on 7th september.
I have not received any acknowledgement till date. I paid by postal order so i cant confirm whether they have cashed the postal order yet or not.

My SAR arrived in 2 months after making the aplication. They count these 40 days period from the date they verify the signature you put on the cheque.

Hi,
Has any of you received your SAR yet?
I have not received mine and its well over 40 days as i requested on 04-09-12. I received acknowledgement on 20-09-12.
I wrote them an email on Friday (16-11-12) requesting update on my request to which I got a reply today saying that they apologise for not completing request within 40 days and that they are doing everything to complete the request and send me the disclosure as soon as possible.
I hope i will receive it within next week.
Please keep me posted if any of you get your SAR.
Regards

Hi,
I am still waiting for my SAR. Its been 3 months now. I have emailed them 3 weeks ago and got a reply that they are still working on it. Today i have sent another email.
Is there anything else i can do to hurry them up as the statutory 40 days time has passed.
Regards
