home office working days in december 2012

i m on tier 1 general visa and my ilr is due on 24th jan 2013(to complete my 5 yrs)..but the problem is that i was given my tier 1 extension till 30th dec 2012 which is 4yrs and 11months...i need to attend my sisters marriage in jan 2013 so wanted to go for premium one day service ...the only option i m left with is to apply on decmber 27th or december 28th(thu,fri)..after which i cant apply as it is weekends and my visa will expire..i cant even apply before 27th dec as it wont complete my 4yrs 11months to apply for ilr..
1.)plz can some one let me know what are the working days for home office in december..
2.) my wife got her tier 1 general dependant on june 1st 2012..so how many years visa will she get if she aplies with me in december..
3|) also plz let me know which form do i need to fill for her..

If you could give more detail, then it would be easier to see if other options might exist:
Your initial visa category, issue date, date of entry, date of switch/extension etc.

@amir..send an email to homeoffice and request for an approval to apply for ILR before xmas e.g. 23rd or 22nd etc. I know its couple of days earlier than the required condition in your case but you may get the approval in the email or talk to someone there in the home office. I dont see any other way here apart from sending the postal application which ofcourse you dont want to do coz of your sis's marriage. Good Luck

On what basis do you say your 5 yr period completes on 24th Jan 2013?

Tentative solution:
Book 2 appointments - 24th Dec and 27th Dec.

Book an appointment for 24th December (Monday). See if you get approved/declined. Make your situation very clear so that if they are going to decline on this day, it is for the 28day rule only.

If 24 doesn't work, you go back on 27th.

@wpilr: thanks for ur reply..do u think home office will be open on 24th dec or 27th dec??..my friends told me that its gonna be closed from 23rd dec to 2nd jan..i will complete my 4yrs 11 months on 23rd dec 2012 as my hsmp was granted (stamped) on 24th jan 2008..
